ABOUT

In 2018, I collaborated with the mother-and-son folk duo, Madisen Ward & The Mama Bear, to create a community-driven music video for their single "Childhood Goodbye."

We developed a creative treatment around the feelings of nostalgia one gets when revisiting old memories, and how past experiences shape us into who we are today.

In today's age, nearly everyone has pieces of home video documenting a long-forgotten parts of their life. These videos serve as our digital links to the past, allowing us to revisit old experiences, and so the use of home videos as a central part of the creative felt natural. But our memories are not only stored as videos. We live and breath our memories everyday – they become a part of us, shaping us into who we are.

We worked with the HITRECORD community to gather hundreds of pieces of home video footage and then combined this old video with modern footage of the users singing the song along with Madisen Ward & The Mama Bear. I managed the entire production pipelines including developing and pitching the concept, working with global community contributors to source footage and photos, sourcing archival footage, working with international animators, and assembling the final edit while navigating label, artist, and internal reviews.
